About

Fraud doesn't usually happen because someone breaks through a system.

I've spent two decades in enterprise software, with more than half of that at Nuance, learning how large organizations actually operate and where their systems break down under real-world pressure. Later, at Sophos, that same instinct for finding the gap between what a system is supposed to catch and what actually slips through pulled me into cybersecurity, where I helped build detection and response capabilities for organizations facing real, active threats.

That experience shaped how I think about risk: organizations invest heavily in catching attackers on the network, but almost nothing watches the money once it's inside the walls. Ghost vendors, duplicate payments, off-hours transfers, and suspicious transaction patterns designed to stay under the radar. It's the kind of insider fraud that slips past small and midsize businesses because nobody is watching the accounting system the way a SOC watches a network.

So I started Pelican Foundry.

Probity integrates with accounting systems and bank data to apply the same detection principles used in cybersecurity to financial operations, helping businesses catch the things a bookkeeper or once-a-year audit will miss.

It happens because nobody is watching the right things. Probity exists to give businesses that visibility before a suspicious transaction becomes a loss.
